Computationally efficient version of the decision feedback equalizer

چکیده
We propose a computationally e cient version of the Decision Feedback Equalizer (DFE) and compare its performance with the conventional DFE. The proposed equalizer requires fewer taps than the conventional one. This reduces the computational load proportionally and leads to faster adaptation. Identical performance of the two structures in terms of probability of error is also demonstrated using both theoretical and simulation results.

Computationally-Efficient Methods for Blind Decision Feedback Equalization of QAM Signals
This paper investigates computationally-efficient methods for blind decision feedback equalization (DFE) that reduce the complexity and power requirements of blind equalization algorithms while maintaining their steady-state characteristics for quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) signals. These include the power-of-two error (POT), selective coefficient update (SCU), and frequency-domain bloc...
متن کاملEfficient decision feedback equalizer for sparse multipath channels
In this paper a computationally e cient Decision Feedback Equalizer (DFE) is proposed. The new equalizer is appropriate for channels with long and sparse impulse response (IR) as those encountered in many wireless communications applications. The main feature of the algorithm is that the actual size of the computationally demanding feedback lter is signi cantly reduced. This is achieved by expl...
متن کاملA Thesis for the Degree of Master Efficient Detection Algorithms for MMSE-SIC in MIMO Systems
In this thesis, computationally efficient detection algorithms for the minimum mean square error (MMSE) estimation with successive interference cancellation (SIC), or with generalized decision feedback equalizer (GDFE) are considered in spatial multiplexing multiple-input multipleoutput (MIMO) systems. The MMSE-SIC and the MMSE-GDFE architectures are known to achieve the ergodic capacity of MIM...
متن کاملMMSE Decision Feedback Equalization of Orthogonal Multipulse Modulated Signals
We propose a finite impulse response (FIR) minimum mean squared error (MMSE) decision feedback equalizer (DFE) for orthogonal multipulse modulated signals received through a multipath channel. Our system model accounts for both the loss of orthogonality caused by the multipath channel as well as intersymbol interference (ISI). First, we review previous work on the subject which used the zero-fo...
متن کاملOn the Practical Aspects of Joint Passive Phase Conjugation and Equalization Underwater Communication Systems
Underwater acoustic communication systems suffer from the channel impairments which results in time spreading of the transmitted signal. In underwater environment, multiple replicas of the transmitted signal are received at the receiver through different paths, which causes significant Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI). Decision Feedback Equalizers (DFE) was utilized to overcome this type of inte...
